Find out about the important role a corporate trustee plays as part of your estate planning team.

About this event

The Corporate Trustee

When individuals have a donative intent, they seek qualified professionals for advice and guidance. The services of an esteemed estate planning attorney, certified financial planner, financial advisor, and charitable gift planner are often used. As part of the charitable giving plan, the individual may make lifetime contributions to a charity or foundation or post death transfers, either outright or pursuant to the dispositive provisions in a trust. The Corporate Trustee can serve as an objective member of the overall estate planning team.

When gifts are made using a trust, the trustee is responsible for following the dispositive provisions of the trust in an objective manner. The trustee has a fiduciary responsibility to execute the wishes of the grantor as memorialized in the trust provisions. A corporate trustee can provide a level of expertise and efficiency that an individual trustee may not be able to provide.
